I was able to take a 20v DEWALT reciprocating saw and put an IR floodlight on it. It was the handle that I was liking in this build. The DEWALT reciprocating saw is 20v battery operated and the IR floodlight is 12v. I found a 20v-12v transformer that I incorporated into the project. I was thinking the 20v would work and power the IR floodlight, but was worried it would burn up the light eventually. I tested the voltage on the other side of the transformer and was not able to get the trigger switch to work, so I put a toggle switch instead and it works great.
